Question by Abbie: Does eating candy help get over a drug addiction?
[rewrite]I saw it in a movie once where this girl in rehab ate candy when she had a drug craving. Does it actually help, or did the director make it up?
The reason I’m asking is because my friend has decided not to do drugs anymore and I want to help him as much as possible…. Please let me know.

Question by valerie: my boyfriend has a drug addiction!?
[rewrite]i just found out that my boyfriend has been doing meth every weekend. he has always had a problem with meth long before i got with him. but he told me he would get help. i thought he was doing ok, though he did it every once in a while i thought he was starting to try. i have already left him once for this and he said he quit and i really thought he did. i think he did for a while but he decided that since he had been doing good that it was ok for him do a little bit. he thinks doing a dime is not a big deal.
i really need some advice. we have been together for a year and he just wont stop. i want him to go to rehab but i dont know how to talk him into going. i live in fort worth texas, so if anyone knows of a good place for him to go or if there is a way to have him taken by someone else where he has no choice, please tell me, im so lost.

Should Pregnant Women Who Use Drugs Still Undergo Addiction Treatment?

Question by camila e: Should pregnant women who use drugs still undergo addiction treatment?
[rewrite]I was just wondering about this since my friend who uses heroin is scared that she might be pregnant. Will she be able to undergo addiction treatment if the pregnancy results turn positive? Will the medication have a negative effect on the baby? What if she doesn’t undergo addiction treatment? What are the risks for the baby? I know we’re sort of jumping to conclusions here, but still. Answers will be greatly appreciated.
