In many states, they are required. Any felony drug conviction in my state requires rehab now. The rehab is located in the prison. They serve part of thier time in rehab, and finish it in general population.

What Does Law Enforcement Think of the Legalization of Marijuana?
Question by Itstartshere27: What does law enforcement think of the legalization of marijuana?
The Indiana police chief Paul Whitesell just came out and said he is for marijuana legalization.”If it were up to me, I do believe I would legalize it and tax it, particularly in sight of the fact that several other states have now come to that part of their legal system as well”. Also, 73 current and former police officers, judges, prosecutors, and federal agents to Attorney General Eric Holder at the Justice Department asking them to abide the will of the voters in Washington and Colorado. I also have heard personally, current, and former police officers say they wouldn’t oppose marijuana legalization. I was watching a documentary and a detective driving around the streets of New Orleans was saying how he opposes drugs, but that the problem wouldn’t be as big if the consumption wasn’t there. He believed that education is the best prevention, rather than prosecution and incarceration. I took criminal justice in college and my professor (who had over 30 years of LEO experience in NYC and became a detective) said the same exact thing. Now I do believe there are social costs to drug use, but marijuana should not be a Schedule 1 narcotic (along with heroin, meth, and LSD). So I was just wondering, how do other LEO’s feel about it? I for one do not drink, but I do smoke marijuana occasionally when I go out if it is around because I feel it is a safe alternative as long as I am not driving. Thanks.
Can You Join the CG if You Have Been in Alcohol/addiction Treatment?
Question by Tikka G: Can you join the CG if you have been in alcohol/addiction treatment?
I’m trying to find out some info about whether the Coast Guard will accept someone who has gone through alcohol/addictions treatment. If you are honest on your SF-86, it shouldn’t be a problem as long as you finished the treatment and are discharged from the facility right? Thanks.

GREAT question!!
This is one that needs to be asked to a recruiter – but until then, I am sure there would be some sort of waiting period, like at least XX years between when the person was released from treatment until they could sign the paperwork to enlist.
What Are the Chances of Dying From Alcohol Poisoning?
Question by X: What are the chances of dying from alcohol poisoning?
Last night, I drank about 6 glasses of wine. I was really out of it, and I don’t drink often either. This morning, I woke up nauseous and with a really bad headache. I’m not too sure if this is alcohol poisoning or just a really bad hangover. It’s been about 15 hours since I drank. I still have a horrible headache, but I can breathe fine and such.
My questions:
How long usually until someone dies from this?
What can I do to feel better? (from nausea and headache)
Does it sound like it’s just a hangover or poisoning?

You can always search through yahoo or google for information, but if you’re bent on getting info from treatment centers, look through the local yellow pages. That would be sure to yield a few results. You can also use the links that I have included below. Good luck! I hope you get a high grade on that project!
