Once an error is clearly and fully understood, it need not be repeated. Addiction is to the false Self. Drugs and Alcohol are just self-medication trying to alleviate the pain caused by that addiction.

there are no absolutes, so I would say, yes but, with contingencies. The intensity of the addiction probably makes a huge difference. But, on the other hand, it’s pretty safe to say that even the smallest addiction plays a small role in a family’s ability to function.
