Why Doesn’t Nicotine (Which Is a Drug) Treated the Same as Other Drug Addictions. Like Treatment Centers Paid
Question by breeze1: Why doesn’t nicotine (which is a drug) treated the same as other drug addictions. Like treatment centers paid
for by insurance and medicare. People who are drug tested positive for illegal drugs are often offered treatment as an option to losing their jobs. in fact drug addiction is listed as a disease, it’s not just a bad habit, . Since nicotine is an addictive drug, users are drug addicts and therefor sick people, so why do we punish them and not offer medical help.I guess it’s because insurance and government do what they want and ignore their irrationality.
i’m not suggestion putting smokers in prison, I’m saying you can be an alcholic or drug addict and go to a treatment center for inpatient treatment usually 28 days and its covered by insurance, but with nicotine which is as hard to stop as herion, you are supposed to stop on your on with no help but a patch. That is discriminatory. It is either a disease or it’s not.
The government wants me to stop smoking so they are taxing cigarettes more and more and forcing my employer to make the work place tobacco free so, yea, they should pay for treatment.
What Do You Think About This Woman (Recreational Drug Question Involving Small Children)?
Question by Texas Raised: What do you think about this woman (recreational drug question involving small children)?
I know this woman who works for a place that does interventions and helps kid of parents on drugs…and takes kids from drug abusing parents. This is the kicker…she herself has 3 little kids and does drugs every day (almost) with her husband (coke, pills, crack, weed). But to just meet her you would never guess that she is that kind of person. Just wondered what your thoughts were on this situation. It makes me soooooooo mad that she does this. I know her business is none of mine but it burns me to no end because she is a hipocrate and fooling everyone!
Have You Ever Had One of Those Real Life Situations That Cause You to Pinch Yourself……?
Question by : Have you ever had one of those real life situations that cause you to pinch yourself……?
…cause you might be dreaming?
Here is one from my life… see if you can top it.
My bro-in-law has a bad Opiate addiction. Oxycodone. But also mixes in Morphine some times. He has lost everything good in his life… jobs, wives, kids, homes, cars, belongings, health, friendships, etc. We helped him into detox and rehab a few times… to no avail. He robs and steals and makes a living selling other people’s stuff. He keeps chasing the high and buying and selling drugs and working with corrupt doctors to sell prescriptions for them. He recently moved to another state to get away from his life here in Virginia. He moved in with his mother and looking for a job.
