I have a son who has struggled with drug addiction, choice of drug is/was oxycontin. He is now in jail after some very poor choices and will be spending time in prison. He is 24. I am in Indiana and am looking for an organization that might be able to help me at his sentencing with information on these evil prescription drugs and what they are doing to our children. My son did not commit the crime, my drugged out son did. He once was a star basketball player and a 3.0 student. Please only serious inquires that want to help or have information that can connect me with the right people.

Almost all of the times I’ve heard of drug addiction it’s cuz they use it because they hate their life. So they use drugs to escape.
Do you know or did you get addicted because you just liked doing it?
I think it’s so stupid that people say they do it to be cool… I think most people are at least curious. Like I am curious, no one would just say I’m gonna do this cuz it will make me so cool.

Does anyone know of a website or service that can help me locate a good drug rehab center? A family member is looking to get help and my family wants to make sure he enters the best facility we can find. We’re not looking for government funded facilities or out-patient programs, but a reliable inpatient rehab center. The Deadly Truth
In America we pride ourselves on our sense of freedom and equality that is in the air but there is one thing that still plagues our society; capital punishment. I recently accepted a job in a in-patient drug & rehabilitation center. This is one population I have never dealt with, but I look forward to it. However, since I have never worked with these types, I have no idea what to expect. What kind of attitudes do they generally have during detox? Anything I should be aware of?

well some will be real pissed off. some will try to get more meds buy lying to you that they lost theres. some will puke alot. some will be out of it. some will be just plain crazy so have fun.
