RE: A Wrist Band That Indicates That Substitute Blood Is Not to Be Used on a Patient?
Question by anmlprht: RE: A wrist band that indicates that substitute blood is not to be used on a patient?
I read about a substitute for blood that was used in some hospitals on a
trial basis. Unless the patient was wearing a wrist band that indicated
that the substitute blood was not to be used, the hospital had a legal
right to use the artificial blood without notifying the patient.
Where can these wrist bands can be obtained?
google “artificial blood” and there is an article about it from CNN.
This article is from 2004. I can’t find the more recent article that mentions the wrisbands.
Information just found. PolyHeme produced by Northfield Labs in Northfield,Illinois.
Could I Afford to Live Comfortably in New York City With This Occupation and Income?
Question by PER92: Could I afford to live comfortably in New York City with this occupation and income?
I am hoping to become an Urban Planner. According to PayScale.com, the average salary for those with 20 years of experience is US$ 97,250. How far out from New York City would I have to be to live comfortably on that income? Could I live comfortably in Manhattan, or Brooklyn or Queens?
Also, is it common for people to start out living maybe an hour away from NYC somewhere in the metropolitan area and then as their income rises move closer in over time?
Where Can I Find Good Gov. Drug Treatment Centers?
Question by Drea: Where can I find good gov. drug treatment centers?
I’m a struggling single mother trying to get over my meth addiction. I’m willing to stay at a shelter that has outside resources for drug treatment–although that wouln’t be my ideal situation. My problem with finding a program (in a non-ghetto area “Yeah she’s off the drugs, but in the hospital from that drive-by) * l o l
Anyways, like I was saying I need a residential facility where my daughter is also able to stay with me.

I Have Been Raised by a Single Mother Since I Was Five. Do You Think I Will Suffer Any Ill Effects?
Question by Object Of It’s Ire: I have been raised by a single mother since I was five. Do you think I will suffer any ill effects?
My mother, Monique, divorced my father when I was five and we left to live by ourselves. I’m a bit worried by statistics which indicate I am more likely to criminally offend or become violent than someone raised in a two parent family.
But.. I think that’s baloney and that I’ll turn out fine.
Thanks for the support everyone. I ask mostly because of this:
